The reunion committee has gathered. After a great deal of discussion, we have decided to have a reunion this summer. We realized that you all are getting old fast (of course, we think we're looking great) and 10 years is too long. So, August 1, 2026 is the date for the CHS 81 5-year Reunion.

We want to keep it simple. We're not going to shut down Last Chance Gulch (that was fun!). The gathering will be at the Grub Steak, Saturday night at 5:30 pm. We'll be on the outdoor bar/patio. There'll be live music with pizza, salad, and other appetizers provided. It'll be a no-host bar and folks can order from the menu if they want. The cost will be $20 per person. Go to the "5-year Reunion" or the "Register Here'" tab on the left and register. While you're here, update your info, we want to see what you've been up to.

Scholarship Endowment

Fellow classmates Brent Campbell, Bobby Veroulis and Glen Campbell
have initiated the formation of a scholarship endowment to honor our
classmates who have passed, listed below, and acts as a living legacy by
giving a graduating Senior at Capital High School a little financial boost
on their educational journey.
We are honoring the following classmates at present while realizing as
time moves forward all of us will join this list:
Curt Adams, Brett Bjerke, Diane Bushnell, Karin Cooper, Kathi Frankino,
Mike Gober, Ray Hunthausen, Father Stuart Long, Jerry Manolovitz,
Donna Williams, Todd Perrin, Rick Radke, Christy Roe (Eller), Wendy
Thompson, Chris Vonada, Heidi Zimmerman, John Shute and Mike Erb.
We have teamed with the Montana Community Foundation, located in
Helena, and Capital High School to establish and assist in administering
the Capital High School Alumni Class of 1981 Memorial Scholarship.
The Montana Community Foundation was established with the
principal purpose to receive and administer funds as endowments for
various charitable, scientific, or educational purposes and organizations
in Montana and presently administers the CHS Class of 1977 Memorial
Scholarship, the only other CHS Memorial Scholarship in existence.

How to Donate to the Capital High School Alumni Class of 1981
Memorial Scholarship Endowment:
Give online at MTCF.org. Safe and easy with a credit card. You
can choose a one-time donation, or monthly or quarterly
donations. A receipt and acknowledgement are emailed directly
to you. One will need to scroll among the various funds and select
“Capital High School Class of 1981 Alumni Scholarship”.

Mail a check to: Montana Community Foundation FBO Capital
High School Alumni Class of 1981 Memorial Scholarship, PO Box
1145, Helena, MT 59624
Make a planned gift to benefit the fund and reduce your Montana
income taxes through the Montana Endowment Tax Credit
(METC). Contact MTCF for more information.
What Amount to Donate:
Any amount will add to endowment fund, if you can be generous at
$1,000 plus, please consider doing so. Some folks are considering an
“81” ending donation i.e., $1,981, $1,081, $981, $81 and so forth.
Again, our goal is to reach $100,000 in endowment funds to produce 4
annual scholarships of approximately $1,000.
The Capital High School Alumni Class of 1981 Memorial Scholarship
Endowment will be “open” to receive donations in perpetuity and one
can donate now and/or anytime going forward as the Montana
Community Foundation will administer the endowment now and into
the future.
 

We will be posting our donation status of how much we raised in
donations on the CHS Reunion Website and the CHS Facebook Page.
The status will be updated to
keep all of us informed of our collective progress.

Thanks to the Reunion Committee for enabling us to place this
Announcement and information on the website. The efforts of the
Reunion Committee and the Capital High School Alumni Class of 1981
Memorial Scholarship are separate yet support each other.
